![]() It sucks when two guys get into melee and everyone takes out swords rather than shoot like they are meant to. Also, because the entire purpose of the repeating crossbows is to fight in close quarters, only the soldiers who are in direct melee combat should take out swords. So once you're nice and close to the enemy and order your crossbows to shoot, they start running around trying to get into formation and end up running straight into a melee fight! Due to the short range and hard micromanaging skills required to maintain this unit, they should have something like the "parthian shot" ability where they can individually decide to shoot in a 360 degree radius so they don't spend 30 seconds running into a straight line formation, which by then, the enemy will have already gotten into melee with them. Well now both the enemy and your own infantry get hit with a debuff because a single arrow accidentally shot into your own ranks.īut the worst thing about this unit is that they can only shoot if they get into a proper formation. Say you somehow got your repeating crossbows behind an enemy melee unit in combat and started shooting. A smaller variant exists known as the repeater handbow. They have two modes of fire, a longer ranged single shot and a shorter ranged double shot. ![]() But the problem is that the missile debuff will most likely affect your own troops since the debuff affects groups rather than individuals. Repeater Crossbows ( Eltharin: Uraithen, the Deathrain) are light crossbows wielded by the Dark Elves. Yes, they are meant to be a support unit by providing debuffs rather than focusing on getting kills themselves. Missile units can easily rack up hundreds of kills, yet it's a struggle to even get past 50 kills for a unit of repeating crossbows. ![]()
